✨ From Daydreamer to National Treasure: The Story of L.M. Montgomery

L.M. Montgomery, whose full name was Lucy Maud Montgomery, was born in 1874 on Prince Edward Island in Canada. When she was just a little girl, she loved reading books and making up stories about fairies, forests, and faraway lands. After her mother passed away, she was raised by her grandparents, and she spent many days exploring the fields and beaches near their home, filling her imagination with adventures.

As she grew older, Maud (that’s what her friends called her) worked as a teacher and a writer. In 1908, she wrote Anne of Green Gables, a story about a red-haired girl with a wild imagination who was adopted by two elderly siblings. Readers everywhere fell in love with Anne’s daydreams, mishaps, and big heart. The book became so popular that Maud wrote many more stories about Anne and her friends in Avonlea.

L.M. Montgomery’s stories teach us about friendship, hope, and finding beauty in simple things. When you read about Anne walking through flower-filled fields or imagining grand adventures in our early reader’s adaption of Anne of Green Gables, remember it all came from the wonderful mind of Maud, a girl who never stopped dreaming.
